About Me

My photo
Camp Lejeune, NC, United States
So, when I followed my husband here from beautiful Parris Island, SC, I had to give up my beloved FRO job, only to find out that my husband was, indeed, going to deploy. So, in an effort to keep myself busy, I started crafting again, and now, to support my crafting habit, I need to sell some of the stuff I make ;D

I'm back...I think!

After a few very busy and very stressful week, I'm back.  I have made many fewer things, as I have been attempting to clean my house and prepare for my husband's long-awaited return from Afghanistan.  He has been home for 30 hours now, and the house was not clean, but he didn't seem to mind...

Since it is already past my bedtime, I will briefly state that I am back, and will post some new pics tomorrow...after my husband has removed enough of his gear from my living room for me to get my craft room (which has been recently re-vamped).

Love n' hugs!

Mother's Day...

One of my girlfriends has three kids, and we all know what it's like to try to figure out what to do with all of the (precious, of course) things that our kids bring us from school, but sometimes, we'd just like to get something cute and useful (the no-cord rule still applies here, gentlemen!) , so when I got to thinking about helping the kids do something for their mom - this is what we came up with.  I can't take full credit, because I took several ideas from various sources, and put them all together, but it came out great, and I think she'll love it (and I'll be able to find an ink pen when I'm visiting)...The painted flowers are the kids' finger prints, and the pens are topped with fabric flowers - enjoy!

My first REAL order!!!

So, I made a pin-board for one of Gray's little friends for his birthday, and another mom at the party loved it, and had seen my booth at the craft fair, and ordered two boards for her kids' rooms - one like the birthday gift, and one like the ones I'd had at the fair...I was so excited about my first order that I went a little overboard, but I had a blast with them, and mom and kids both loved them!!!

Want one for your home or for your kids' rooms, let me know, turnover is 1-3 days :)

Framed boards, like Miss Meghan's, sell for $25 and the other's, like Mr. Alex's, sell for $30:

Busy, busy...

So, the last few days have been insanely busy!  Gray had a play at school, Oceans of Fun, where we (the kids, mostly) learned all sorts of things about animal life in the ocean.  Gray played an Orca Whale, and, while he was super-cute, the poor guy may not have a future in acting - at least not on stage or in front of a live audience ;) still, he did a pretty good job - I was proud, and shamelessly videotaped the whole thing - and here's a photo for your viewing pleasure!

No new stuff today...

So today, I ran errands with a great friend, and then came home to a great nap and some snuggle time with my bud, and no crafting for the day, so, until tomorrow when I can post some more pics of all my cute stuff, here's a (not-so-great) pic of my and my snuggle-buddy, I hope it makes you smile!

Regular person ribbon necklaces...

So, since I'm not a Red Hat lady myself, I wanted to try some of these necklaces for "regular people". Here's what I came up with...

Anyone who knows me knows that I just HAD to do a "GO DAWGS" piece...I may live in NC now, but I'll always be a GA girl at heart, and football season is quickly approaching, so I've got to be ready!!! I'm hoping to sell some of this stuff, even if I can sell enough to support my craft habit...in the meantime, we're counting down the days until Daddy's home, and I am FERVENTLY trying to get a job here...again, so I can support my craft habit and so we can put up some money to pay the amazing Dr. Pasquerette to help us get preggers...Grayson REALLY needs a little brother or sister!!!
I'm tyring lots of other new things, so more stuff to follow :)

Trying my hand at ribbon jewelry...

So, now I'm trying my hand at jewelry, but I LOVE the ribbon necklaces that have been popping up all over the place. I decided for the first one, I'd do one that would be okay if it turned out a touch tacky, so I made a Red Hat necklace for my mom - you know how all of those precious ladies are, with their purple clothes and red hats - my mom has been trying to get me to be a "pink hat" which is the distinction given to members who are younger than the "Red Hat" age requirement. I've yet to agree to it, but I strongly support her involvement. Here are the Red Hat ones that I've made...
